With the establishment of a design office for special machinery, Dr. Ing. Heinrich Collin laid the foundation for the company Dr. Collin GmbH. Many things have been changing since then.
But the enthusiasm and the sense of innovation of the early days are still driving the company’s business operations and its position in the market. Even after thirty years, COLLIN® is not satisfied with just ”being there“.

W. u. H. Fernholz GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1963 by brothers Werner and Helmut Fernholz. The production of plastic items was started with just one injection moulding machine. Later, the thermoforming process was added. With the decision to produce the sheets for thermoforming products ourselves, the third production process, extrusion, was built up gradually. The introduction of direct printing, labelling and the IML followed.
In 1972, the first production hall was opened at its present location in the Ihne industrial park in Meinerzhagen. In the following years, the production and warehousing areas were continuously expanded.
In 2002, Frank and Uwe Fernholz, the two sons of brothers Werner and Helmut Fernholz, took over the company's management.
In 2006, in Meinerzhagen, the silo system for raw materials and thus the storage capacity for raw materials was greatly expanded.
In 2009, with the commissioning of the sheet production plant in Schkopau, a second, more efficient production site was set up with approximately 20 employees and the most modern extrusion systems for PS, PP and multilayer sheets.
Today, our production focuses on sheets and cups for the dairy and food industry. We continuously analyse new materials and processing procedures.
