Innovations for more than 150 years
The company was founded in 1863 in Mannheim, Germany, as a brickyard and succeeded in developing its first pathbreaking innovation, chemical stoneware, in 1888. Numerous new developments followed. Among other things, the company started in the mid of the past century processing plastics and combined modern and traditional materials when producing chemical devices and facilities.
The following years were characterised by the expansion in the core business and the opening up of more and more new business segments. As Deutsche Steinzeug and later as Friedrichsfeld GmbH, the company, which has been operating under the name FRIATEC AG since 1993, continuously developed to become an internationally active, diversified company.
Spectrum of innovative solutions
As such, FRIATEC AG today offers a spectrum of innovative solutions for many industries, e.g. jointing technology for pipe systems, special pumps for aggressive, volatile or explosive media, but also ceramic components which are used in laboratory and electrical engineering but also in medical engineering. With its sophisticated solutions, FRIATEC AG is not only among the most well-known and well-established companies in the metropolitan region Rhine-Neckar but is also one of the global market leaders of its industry.
Partner of a powerful community
Since 2003, FRIATEC AG has been a member of the ALIAXIS group of companies with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. ALIAXIS is the worldwide largest producer of plastic pipe systems for the construction industry, the industry and utilities.

TQS - Una empresa joven con una larga tradición
En 1910, la empresa se fundó en Berlín como Deutsch-Englische-Quarzschmelze GmbH. La empresa fabricaba principalmente productos de sílice fundida para diversas aplicaciones en la industria química, que en aquel momento era todavía joven y próspera.
En 1957, la empresa se trasladó a Maguncia y allí funcionó como una empresa conjunta de TSL - Thermal Syndicate Ltd. (Inglaterra) y Jenaer Glaswerke Schott+Genossen (Alemania) hasta 1965.
En 1965 -entonces una filial al cien por cien del Grupo TSL- la empresa trasladó su sede a Wiesbaden y en adelante operó con el nombre de TQS - Thermal Quarz-Schmelze GmbH.
A partir de ese momento, la atención en Wiesbaden se centró en el desarrollo continuo de radiadores de cuarzo infrarrojos y componentes de vidrio de cuarzo óptico. Siempre se ha dado gran importancia a la estrecha colaboración con los clientes. De este modo, se han podido llevar a cabo conjuntamente muchos nuevos desarrollos y mejoras a lo largo de los años.
En 1988, todo el grupo TSL fue adquirido por el grupo francés Saint-Gobain.
A partir del año 2000, la empresa con sede en Wiesbaden operó bajo el nombre de Saint-Gobain Quartz GmbH, Wiesbaden.
En 2009, en el transcurso de una compra por parte de la dirección, la empresa pudo dotarse de un marco legal independiente bajo el todavía conocido logotipo TQS – Technical Quartz Solutions GmbH -.
El último paso en la larga historia de TQS® tuvo lugar a principios de 2015, cuando la empresa exportadora VS Technical Supplies GmbH, con sede en Frankfurt, adquirió el 100% de las acciones de TQS®.
En la actualidad, el Sr. Volker Schmidt es el responsable de la gestión.

for general lab applications. In addition, a wide range of Plates, Reservoirs, Sealing
Foils, and Special Consumables are available for our wide range of equipment.

We also offer various Antibodies, Antigens, Proteins and ELISA Kits for research and manufacturing purposes; Human and Animal Whole Blood, Plasma, Sera and Complement preserved Sera; Substrates and Reagents for ELISA, IHC, Blotting, and Microarray; along with Products to stabilize RNA and DNA samples.
