Las raíces de Göritzhainer Maschinenfabrik se remontan a principios de la década de 1970, cuando Karl-Friedrich Machan creó su propia empresa en el campo de la tecnología de transporte en Augsburgo. En 1993, la empresa se trasladó a Lunzenau.

Su hijo Jürgen Machan dirige la empresa familiar desde 2022.
