la empresa ABT Sportsline es hoy en día el mayor tuneador de vehículos para el Grupo VW y Audi y también lleva a cabo numerosas actividades de automovilismo para la marca de los cuatro aros. Sin embargo, en una empresa con más de 125 años de historia, el ayer también cuenta, y estamos arraigados a él. Creo que las raíces son importantes para mantenerse firmes, pero no deben atarte al suelo. Mis antepasados ya se tomaron a pecho este lema. Uno de ellos, Johann Abt, fundó en 1896 una "forja innovadora" en el sentido más estricto de la palabra: en lugar de limitarse a fabricar herraduras y reparar carros de caballos, inventó un carro que también podía utilizarse como trineo en los duros inviernos nevados, es decir, un verdadero híbrido. Desde entonces, nuestra empresa familiar ha seguido evolucionando. Como un arroyo de montaña que muele un guijarro y avanza poco a poco hacia aguas cada vez más grandes, el espíritu innovador de muchas generaciones nos hizo avanzar cada vez más. El amor por los coches se abrió paso en nuestros corazones y mentes desde muy pronto.
Cuando el nieto del fundador, Johann Abt, compitió en su primera carrera de coches en 1950 y sentó las bases de nuestras actividades automovilísticas, la AUTO-ABT ya existía en Kempten desde hacía tiempo. Mi padre también apreciaba los coches rápidos en la vida cotidiana. Por eso fundó ABT Tuning en 1967. En 1978 tuneó el primer VW Golf y ya en 1980 sacó al mercado el primer chip tuning. Luego, las cosas fueron a más. Y en 1991 se inauguró por fin la nueva sede representativa de la empresa en la actual Johann-Abt-Straße, que se amplió en 2014 para incluir un impresionante centro de deportes de motor y que también alberga su propio museo.
Mi hijo Daniel Abt también sigue los pasos que dejé yo y toda una serie de ocupados antepasados. Pero también lleva mucho tiempo dejando su propia huella y se mantiene al día: como Youtuber y también en ABT Sportsline
